Asus Republic of Gamers (ROG) has announced the availability in Italy of ROG Strix XG27UQ, the first gaming monitor in the world together with the ROG Swift PG32UQ to support Display Stream Compression (DSC) technology. This technology allows the new displays to offer 4K resolution at refresh rates up to 144 Hz for super smooth and high quality images.

The ROG Strix XG27UQ is now available in Italy at the recommended price of 999 euros.

THE PRODUCT
ROG Strix XG27UQ is able to offer smooth 4K images up to 144 Hz with 1 ms MPRT response time. The display is also compatible with NVIDIA G-SYNC and is DisplayHDR 400 certified, featuring exceptional contrast and 90% DCI-P3 professional color gamut coverage.

Display Stream Compression technology is a compression standard for sending very high definition video streams through a single high speed interface without perceptible loss of visual quality. With integrated DSC technology, the ROG Strix XG27UQ is capable of reproducing incredibly detailed and smooth images at native 4K resolutions with a refresh rate of 144 Hz via a single DisplayPort 1.4 connection – and without resorting to sub-sampling of colors that negatively affects the display quality.

To achieve this level of performance without DSC, gaming monitors require two DisplayPort connections to transfer the video signal from the PC. This typically requires complex driver configuration and prevents the display of HDR content and variable update rates during the game. The new ROG display eliminates all these problems, supporting both HDR and variable refresh rates via a single DisplayPort 1.4 connection
