Gaming notebooks are always compact, but the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 breaks every record with an ultra-light and super-thin chassis that hides an 45W AMD Ryzen 4000H chip and NVIDIA RTX (Turing) graphics, SSD memory and even WiFi 6 and USB Type-C connectivity. This model was officially presented at the AMD press conference as an example of an ultraportable for gaming, but we had the opportunity to touch it and study it thoroughly in the ASUS demo room. And that’s exactly where we made a first live video.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 weighs just 1.6Kg and measures 324 x 222 x 17.9 mm, but integrates the powerful 2.9GHz AMD Ryzen 7 4800H octa-core with 7nm production process and integrated Radeon Vega 7 graphics, flanked by a dedicated graphics card ( up to) Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 with 6GB of GDDR6 memory and support for Ray Tracing. And thanks to ROG Boost technology, the GPU frequency (specifically RTX 2060) can go up to 1298 MHz at 65 W. The platform is then completed by a maximum of 32GB of DDR4 3200 MHz RAM and up to 1TB of SSD M disk space. .2 NVMe PCIe 3.0.

Anyone can optimize gaming or pure creativity thanks to the 14-inch high-resolution display – Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) at 120Hz or WQHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) at 60Hz – with PANTONE validated colors and adaptive synchronization. Like G-Sync, Adaptive Sync technology ensures that the screen and graphics card are perfectly synchronized to display the best possible rendering.

Turning to connectivity, the new ASUS ultrabook provides 802.11ax WiFi modules (Intel Wi-Fi 6, 2×2) and Bluetooth 5.0, an HDMI 2.0b output, an audio combo jack, two USB 3.0 ports and two USB 3.1 Type ports- C (Gen2) one of which compatible with Power Delivery for power supply. This interface provides less energy than a power supply (65W instead of 180W) therefore it does not allow you to exploit the full power of the GPU, but it is still an interesting (and above all useful) solution when traveling and forgetting the charger.

On board we also find an HD webcam with microphone, Dolby Atmos 2.2 stereo speakers (two speakers 2 x 2.5W + two basses 2 x 0.7W), a backlit chiclet keyboard (1.7 mm travel, N-Key support) and a player fingerprint compatible with Windows Hello and hidden in the power button (for the first time in a ROG) for secure authentication.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 will be available in two colors: Moonlight White or Eclipse Gray. The frame can be equipped with an optional AniMe Matrix display (8W consumption) to display customized graphics and animations thanks to 1215 mini-LEDs with 256 different brightness levels positioned on the cover. The palm rest is reinforced by a honeycomb system, while the chassis is made of magnesium-aluminum alloy to offer greater strength. Do not miss the now known ErgoLift hinge present on many ASUS notebooks that slightly raises the device when it is open, to improve typing ergonomics and facilitate cooling. In this specific model, the system will be able to regulate the processor power according to the temperature of the graphics card and the cooling will be entrusted to n-Blade fans (81 fins from 50 to 51.2 mm long), heatpipes and ventilation grids. The operating system is Windows 10 while the autonomy should be around 10 hours.
