While the title sounds almost like a full-fledged ad, it isn’t. DJI has not presented anything but on the net there is an unboxing video that reveals for the first time the new 249 gr drone. And maybe we even have the debut date.
Mavic Mini 2 had already been at the center of numerous rumors in recent days, appearing suddenly and disappearing just as quickly from a US shop. In the last few hours the turning point, an unedited unboxing video made by a US user reveals what will be DJI Mini 2, the new drone loses the word Mavic but gains other important features.
The author of the clip managed to grab a model before its release, buying it very simply from a Best Buy chain store. We discover so many interesting details, starting with the most substantial upgrade which is the ability to shoot in 4K (Mavic Mini stopped at 2.7K). The sensor used is 1 / 2.3 ”CMOS at 12 MP, FOV of 83 degrees with aperture f / 2.8 Secondly and not least, there is support for Ocusync 2 with geofencing and a new remote control inherited from Mavic Air 2.
The obstacle detection sensors are missing, which would inevitably have raised the price. There are no specific details on the battery but on the box it is clear that Mini 2 will be able to fly for a maximum of 31 minutes within 10 km maximum in the USA and 6 km in Italy. Just recently a series of official images showing the Mini 2 from all angles appeared on the German website Winfuture. All the characteristics listed above were also confirmed.
The presentation has not been made official but the intensification of information is a clear sign that there is not much, several rumors indicate November 4th as the day of the debut. Prices should be slightly higher than those of the first generation, the fleeting appearance on the Adorama shop indicated $ 449 for the basic version, $ 599 for the Fly More Combo, prices that if they follow the previous trend, will be equal but in euros, as also confirmed by the Winfuture website.
