Fujitsu Lifebook U7511, U7411 and U7311 with Intel Tiger Lake

After the update of the Lifebook U9311 / U9311x ultrabooks, Fujitsu has announced the refresh of the Lifebook U7 clamshell family, high-end ultra-mobile workstations designed for the professional who – especially in this period – needs to work both in the office than at home. The series consists of three models, which share main design and technical specifications, distinguished only by the diagonal of the display and the overall dimensions. Let’s talk specifically about Fujitsu Lifebook U7511, U7411 and U7311.

The Fujitsu Lifebook U7 range is made with magnesium alloy chassis, a material that helps to lighten the weight without sacrificing strength. Lifebook U7311 is the smallest of the bunch with a 13.3-inch display, Lifebook U7411 sports a 14-inch panel while the larger Lifebook U7511 integrates a 15.6-inch screen, but all are available in HD (1366 x 768 pixels) or Full resolution. HD (1920 x 1080 pixels), optionally also touch.

Compared to the past generation, the new models are 16-22% lighter and more compact (up to 18%). For example: Fujitsu Lifebook U7511 measures 357 x 230 x 18.1 (1.5Kg) compared to the previous Fujitsu Lifebook U7510 which has dimensions of 378 x 256 x 19.2 mm or Fujitsu Lifebook U7411 has a frame of 322 x 211 x 17.9 mm (1.2Kg) versus the Fujitsu Lifebook U7410 which measures 332.6 x 234 x 19mm. This slim look declined in silver or black, focuses on the screen which, thanks to the ultra-slim bezels, reaches a screen-to-body ratio of 86% (and no longer 72.2%).

The new Fujitsu Lifebook U7 are based on 11th generation Intel Core processors (Tiger Lake-U), from the affordable dual-core Core i3-1115G4 up to the top-of-the-range Intel Core i7 vPro. Graphics processing is managed by the integrated Intel UHD or Iris Xe subsystem, depending on the chip chosen, which is flanked by DDR4 RAM at 3200MHz up to 64GB and NVMe SSD in M.2 format up to 1TB.

For those who are always on the go, connectivity is essential, as is a full day of battery life. The new Advanced range of Lifebook U7 models introduces integrated 5G technology for the fastest mobile connectivity possible, while a powerful 65Wh battery allows you to work all day without the need for cables. Charging is done through the convenient USB-C / Thunderbolt 4 ports. To these are added HDMI (U7311 also has a VGA), a 3.5 mm audio jack, Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 as well as WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1.

Mobility is highlighted by the choice between the convenience of Windows Hello or Fujitsu PalmSecure contact-free authentication, a technology that provides the highest degree of security of any other integrated biometric authentication system. An electronic ePrivacy filter reduces the viewing angle of the display to make it more difficult for someone to peek at the screen. And with the Privacy Camera Shutter, a manual lens cap, the built-in webcam is definitely inactive when it needs to be turned off
