Galaxy Z Flip

Confirmations arrive on the specifications from the passage on Geekbench: as already hypothesized Z Flip will mount a SoC Snapdragon 855 (but it could also be the 855 Plus, since the data we have at the moment do not allow us to distinguish between the two) and 8 GB of RAM.

Galaxy Z Flip is attracting the attention of enthusiasts and professionals: the second Samsung leaflet will first be called just like that, given the confirmation received in these hours by the Indonesian certification body, and will represent in some respects a generational leap compared to the model currently on the market.

We have already seen many beautiful renders of the foldable, just as we had the opportunity to know the alleged technical specifications, but the interest of the most is focusing on one aspect in particular: the protection of the folding panel. So will Samsung be able to replace the fragile plastic with something more resistant and long lasting? We had already talked about it before, but in the last few days Max Weinbach of XDA has expressed himself in favor of the presence of a very thin glass called “Samsung Ultra Thin Glass”, moreover already anticipated in December by the leaker IceUniverse

But let’s be careful: the word “glass” is used in the term (among other things, the trademark was registered in Europe with the EUIPO last December), but the doubt that it is simply a “marketing wizardry” is always. More and more sources seem to confirm that it will actually be super thin (and resistant) glass, but it is better to remain with the benefit of the doubt until the official presentation to be held on February 11th.

Weinbach then reported other details:

the fingerprint sensor will be positioned laterally
the cameras will be two, both 12MP: main and ultra-wide angle
charging will take place at 15W
support is provided for both wireless and reverse charging
the display will be a Dynamic AMOLED covered, as mentioned, by the Samsung Ultra Thin Glass
the external display will have a diagonal of 1 “(not 0.1” as written in the tweet, this is a typo): it will be used to check the recharge and the battery status, and can also be used as a viewfinder for photos .

Confirming the imminent debut on the market also comes the FCC certification, fresh from publication on the database of the American commission (yesterday, 23 January). From the documentation (in SOURCE) no technical features are shown, only that the SM-F700F model is really close.

Among the other specifications already known, we report the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, the 6.7 “display (open), 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB of internal memory and the 3.300mAh battery. The front camera should be 10MP And no 5G: Galaxy Z Flip will be LTE and it will cost (maybe) 1,499 euros
