Garmin Overlander is a new multi-satellite navigator (GPS, Galileo and Glonass) all-in-one, specifically designed to meet the needs of the increasingly large overlanding community, a term that identifies those travelers who spend long periods living on four wheels at discovery of new territories and in continuous search for adventure. It will be available in Italy starting from June, at the price of 699.99 euros.

From navigating through the intricate streets of city suburbs to the great open spaces of the most remote regions, Overlander uses Garmin maps to lead you precisely and safely, curve after curve, to every corner of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. To the maps already preloaded on the device, we also add the Track4Africa database which offers a huge collection of tracks and points of interest throughout the African continent. As soon as a slightly beaten path is presented, travelers can easily switch to topographical maps and continue their off-road adventure.

Sturdy tool designed to withstand different climatic and environmental conditions, Overlander is equipped with a 7-inch color touchscreen display on which you can clearly and immediately see all the contents necessary for your trip, including points of interest ( POI) iOverlander, ACSI, Campercontact and Trailer’s Park with campsites and rest areas that make it easy to find new places to stop, hunt or even fish, all without the need for telephone signal coverage.

By combining Overlander with the two-way satellite communication system of Garmin inReach, you have the possibility to remain always connected and reachable wherever you are, with the possibility of sending and receiving messages and sending an SOS alert in case of emergency.

In addition, Overlander is able to design and propose a personalized route for your journey, taking into consideration not only departure and arrival, but also the height, weight and length of your vehicle in order to simplify navigation and avoid situations of difficulty or danger to driving. On less traveled roads, Overlander includes a clinometer for when you venture on off-road routes, through mountain passes or along particularly difficult paths. Additional integrated navigation sensors, such as the compass, the altimeter and the barometer complete the equipment.

The maximum travel experience is also guaranteed by the possibility of connecting with the Garmin Explore app, through which users can wirelessly synchronize tracks, routes and waypoints between their Overlander satellite navigator, smartphone or home computer. Finally, Overlander can be mounted anywhere thanks to the magnetic bracket supplied, with a suction cup support, or through the adapter for the RAM bracket included in the package 5/5 (1)
