To date, it was known that the HTC Vive Cosmos is a VR viewer that does not require external accessories for tracking, as it is equipped with integrated front and side cameras that perform the function independently. The device must be connected to a PC, it has a folding viewer for a quick transition from the virtual world to the real world and is equipped with a controller with motion sensors.
Here then (finally) some new details on the virtual reality viewer, waiting for the company to publish the complete technical sheet:
pixel-packed display to minimize the screen-door effect (SDE), or the presence of black “spaces” between one pixel and another: the details will be greater
accurate tracking, gesture control, 6 degrees of freedom (6DoF)
possibility of using the “out-of-box” viewer
use of materials that allow the skin to breathe and the user to wear the visor for long sessions without problem
The controllers allow you to have an even more immersive experience and can be used in a simple way
We are curious to know all the other details and, above all, the price at which the viewer will be placed on the market. A few more days, and we will know everything.
