The name may not tell you much but, taking a look at its data sheet and above all the selling price, KUU K1 is one of the most promising Chinese notebooks of 2020. So if you are looking for a laptop to study / work from home with the whole family, especially in this period of quarantine, KUU K1 could also be an excellent choice for your wallet. It weighs 1.8Kg and measures 360 x 240 x 25 mm but, although it is not among the lightest and thinnest models around, it still manages to stand out for some merits.
Starting from the cost and we have the proof, since at the moment KUU K1 is on offer on Gearbest at a truly unmissable price, with free shipping in Italy from Chinese warehouses. Use our coupons, because you can take advantage of an extra discount at check-out:
Featuring a magnesium alloy and aluminum frame with a satin silver finish, KUU K1 is equipped with an Intel Core i5-5257U processor, certainly dated (dates back to 2015) but with a clock speed of 2.7GHz and Iris Graphics 6100 graphics relatively powerful, to be able to compete with more modern and expensive processors. It is not a fanless notebook, because the chip’s 28W TDP has forced the company to use an active cooling system, with a fan that will be activated in the “demanding” scenarios in terms of resources. The platform is completed by 8GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 256 / 512GB SSD depending on the models, which can be extended with an HDD / SSD in a second free 2.5-inch SATA 3.0 slot.
The presence of a large 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display (1920 x 1080 pixels) has also made it possible to integrate a numeric keypad next to the backlit keyboard. Do not miss a pair of stereo speakers, the fingerprint reader in the touchpad, an 802.11ac WiFi module, Bluetooth 4.0, two USB ports, a micro HDMI, a microSD card slot and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
The webcam is positioned in the hinge and is equipped with a physical shutter for privacy, while the 38Wh battery should be more than enough to be able to withstand for at least 4-5 hours on the move. Of course there is Windows 10 Pro on board
