Color ebook-readers are now a reality and, several months after Onyx’s announcement, the new Boox Poke2 Color is finally available on the market at an attractive price. It can be purchased on the official shop at $ 279.99, albeit in limited quantities at the moment.

Thanks to its compact body and the weight of only 150 grams, Poke2 Color can be comfortably held with one hand to enjoy its contents in any context. As anticipated, its peculiarity concerns the display, a 6-inch E-Ink Carta with HD resolution (1072 × 1448 pixels), which uses Kaleido technology to reproduce 4096 colors and give life to the illustrated contents of books, comics, magazines and etc. To achieve this, the pixel density of 300PPI in black and white mode is reduced to 100PPI in color, offering a comfortable reading that does not tire the eyes. In addition, the screen is recessed with respect to the frames, it is not covered by glass and can count on a front light adjustable on 32 levels to continue reading even in the dark.
As for the hardware sector, we find a 2GHz octa-core SoC, flanked by 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 32 GB storage.
