OPPO X 2021
OPPO X 2021 rollable concept – a smartphone with an extendable screen – is the latest result of OPPO’s research and development in assembly and flexible displays, offering users a more natural interactive experience. The device is equipped with the three main proprietary technologies of OPPO, Powertrain Roll Motor, 2-in-1 Plate and Warp Track with high strength laminated high strength screen.
OPPO X 2021 is the latest result of OPPO’s constant pursuit of mobile phone shape design. It is built with an extendable OLED display that measures up to 6.7 inches and 7.4 inches. Powered by OPPO Roll Motor’s proprietary powertain, 2-in-1 plate (which supports the screen with no gaps between segments), and Warp Track high-strength laminate, the device features a scrolling, roller-like display , extendable without the need for effort to carry out the bending.

To create a display that retracts and extends automatically without difficulty, OPPO has developed a bespoke roller motor. Two drive motors integrated into the device generate a constant force output which is used to retract and extend the display. This design ensures that as the display moves, the stress is equally distributed. Therefore, even a sudden push or pull does not damage the display. In addition, OPPO’s engineers designed an entire pad with a slider on the side of the phone’s display. The display moves along this central axis, and the cursor ensures that it follows a smooth arc. After numerous experiments and tests, they settled on a diameter of 6.8 mm for the central axis, a cutting-edge result that allows the display to bend almost without a trace.

To support the screen and prevent it from sagging inward, OPPO has developed the innovative “2 in 1 Plate” display support technology, which includes the placement of two support brackets on either side of the inside of the device. The supports have a comb structure to effectively support the display, whatever its shape. When the display is retracted, the two support substrates come together to form a single surface, and when the display is extended, a substrate slides out to support the display. The left and right substrates support the unrolled display with zero segment space, keeping the display smooth.
OPPO has also integrated a brand new “dynamic frame”, consisting of a fixed frame and a sliding frame. As the display size changes, the sash frame and back battery cover move away from the panel to provide better protection.

The extendable display is durable even when folded, however, increasing the overall thickness of the display affects the degree to which it can fold. To meet this challenge, OPPO uses its unique Warp Track high-strength screen laminate, constructed using ultra-high strength steel as the main material. At its maximum thinning, the laminate reaches a thickness of only 0.1 millimeters. Together with the line motifs
etched on the surface, Warp Track laminate greatly increases the resistance of the display as it folds, while providing sufficient support. The high-strength laminate of the Warp Track screen is therefore like a track: it offers reliable protection without increasing strength.

Compared to fixed-sized foldable displays, extendable displays are adjustable to infinite possibilities between their minimum and maximum sizes, opening new horizons for productivity, entertainment and everyday use. This means that users only need to tap a video and the phone to automatically adjust the screen size based on the aspect ratio, providing a full-screen viewing experience at all times. Alternatively, when reading an e-book or editing a document, the larger size provides a more enjoyable reading experience. Additionally, pop-up messages that appear during a game session can also present the full message without interrupting the game screen.
OPPO AR Glass 2021
OPPO AR Glass 2021 fully represents the “leap” in the exploration of the digital world of OPPO. Adopting the brand new split design, OPPO AR Glass 2021 is compact and ultra-light; it is quadi 75% lighter than the previous model. When connected to the Find X2 Pro via a dual USB Type-C cable, the AR Glass exhibits a significant increase in computing performance thanks to the Snapdragon ™ 865 chipset, with a 40% increase in CPU and GPU performance respectively .
As for the main components, OPPO AR Glass 2021 is built with the Birdbath optical solution, which increases contrast by 53%, brightness uniformity by 98% and pixels per degree by 40% compared to its predecessor, offering more images. sharp and refined. The light emitted by its 0.71-inch OLED is refracted by the spectroscope to the human eye, along with a custom full-width speaker and a unique semi-open rear cavity acoustic design, creating a home theater-like experience that equates to look at a 90-inch screen from 3 meters away.
OPPO AR Glasses 2021
In addition, OPPO AR Glass 2021 is equipped with several sensors, including a series of binocular fisheye cameras, a ToF sensor and an RGB camera. They can not only support a variety of natural interactions, including smartphone interactions, gesture-based interactions and spatial localization, but can also complete the three-dimensional calculation of spatial localization in milliseconds, achieving precise location and offering users a real and natural experience of spatial interaction in the AR world through constant updating and feedback of the user’s real-time position within the space.
The OPPO AR Developer Program will be officially launched in 2021, and will include the hiring of developers, a development salon and an ad hoc support plan for them. OPPO will provide a comprehensive client-side SDK supporting various interfaces and a development toolchain, as well as building a platform for OPPO applications for AR smartphones and OPPO AR Glass, to help the developer community create high-value, specific user experiences. for AR more efficiently.
The CybeReal real-time space computing AR application, powered by high-precision location and space recognition technology, is supported by OPPO’s three core technologies such as accurate reconstruction of reality to the centimeter and OPPO Cloud enriching user perception of the real world.
CybeReal must perform high-precision localization in real time. This means that, within milliseconds, it must correctly identify the user’s exact position to the centimeter and 1 °. In other words, the virtual world instantly responds to every action the user takes. This is not a simple GPS location and navigation, but a complex fusion of multiple tracking technologies. The location is first estimated considering the current combined status of IMU, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and network information. The cameras and SLAM algorithms are then used to obtain an even more precise spatial localization. Finally, through semantic learning, artificial intelligence allows smartphones with CybeReal to understand what they see. High-precision real-time location technology will allow for more accurate positioning than the navigation map, even when it comes to pinpointing the user’s location in an indoor environment. When the user visits a new place, he will find his location through CybeReal as soon as he opens the camera.
In terms of location and navigation, OPPO CybeReal’s core application offers a more intuitive experience than browsing on a smartphone. It also allows precise navigation even in indoor environments such as car parks or shopping centers. In addition, it is equipped with high-precision real-time localization technology and AI scenario recognition and can also be used in virtual games, product displays, visual marketing in stores, etc. CybeReal is the first step that OPPO has taken in the field of scene-based digitization. In the future, OPPO will share its capabilities and invite multiple partners and developers to lead digitization within multiple usage scenarios.
