Much better known for its gaming accessories (headphones, mice, keyboards and so on …), even if not yet in Italy, Razer has also been selling laptops for some years that everyone appreciates for their hardware and design. They are basically powerful and elegant machines, while retaining some details inherited from the gaming world, such as the RGB backlighting of the keyboard, but therefore less suitable for the professional. So Razer has decided to expand the rotten and launch (surprise) a new range of notebooks: Razer Book.

The new Razer Book 13 is the first model of the family and presents itself as an ultraportable designed for productivity on the go. It has a premium design, top-of-the-range hardware equipment and a directly proportional price. It is not on sale in Italy, but can already be pre-ordered in the USA starting at 1199 dollars.

Based on an Intel Tiger Lake processor, choice of 2.4GHz quad-core Intel Core i5-1135G7 or 1.2GHz quad-core Intel Core i7-1165G7, with Intel Iris Xe graphics, 8 / 16GB DDR4 RAM (welded) and 256/512 GB on M.2 NVMe SSD, Razer Book 13 can be used not only for the office but also for a few hours of gaming on the go. It also has two Thunderbolt 4 ports, which will allow you to connect the ultraportable to an external graphics dock for home gaming. Like other notebooks of the brand, this model also has a backlit keyboard (per key) with Razer Chrome RGB technology, which can be useful both for video editing and for games.

Razer Book 13 is built with an anodized aluminum unibody frame, which measures 295.6 x 198.5 x 15.1 mm and weighs 1.34Kg, in the “Mercury White” color (very similar to a light silver), therefore decidedly more sober and “professional” than the black or white used in the Blade series. The cooling system consists of a heatpipe and a steam chamber.

As for the display, the ultrabook (among other things also certified by Intel Evo) integrates a 13.4-inch IPS screen two resolutions: Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) matte or UHD 4K (3840 x 2160 pixels) glossy. Both have an aspect ratio of 16:10, a refresh rate of 60Hz, viewing angles of 178 °, edge-to-edge Corning Gorilla Glass 6, and a touch option only in the more expensive SKUs.

The rest of the specs include stereo speakers with support for THX Spatial Audio, array of 4 microphones and HD webcam with facial recognition via Windows Hello, a glass touchpad, WiFi 6 (2×2, Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201), Bluetooth 5.1 and a good set of ports that includes an HDMI 2.0a video output, a 3.5 mm audio jack, a microSD card reader, a USB 3.2 Type-A Gen2 but also two USB 4 Type-C / Thunderbolt 4 for charging. At the time of writing, Razer offers three configurations for the US market:

Intel Core i5-1135G7, 8/256 GB and $ 1199 FHD display
Intel Core i7-1165G7, 16/256 GB and $ 1599 FHD touch display
Intel Core i7-1165G7, 16 / 512GB and $ 1999 4K touch display
All SKUs have a 55Whr battery which should guarantee an estimated autonomy of about 14 hours and a 65W power supply, which ensures full recharge from 0 to 100% in 4.30 hours. The operating system is Windows 10
