Samsung has launched its latest external storage device – Portable Solid State Drive (SSD) T7 Touch – which combines an elegant and compact design with the highest transfer speed currently available, based on the USB 3.2 Gen 2 standard. The new device it also implemented the hardware security level for data protection by integrating a fingerprint sensor.
Designed for professional and occasional users, Samsung T7 Touch has enough capacity to safely store a large number of 4K / 8K images, games or videos on PC, tablet, smartphone or gaming console, ensuring better durability and autonomy.

Samsung T7 Touch offers a remarkable update speed compared to previous storage solutions. It has a reading speed of 1,050MB / s and a writing speed of 1,000MB / s, about twice the previous T5 and 9.5 times faster than external HDDs. In addition, the device can reach full speed when used with the NVMe interface.
To ensure a higher level of security, in addition to password protection and 256-bit AES hardware encryption, the T7 Touch was equipped with the first fingerprint scanner integrated into a Samsung SSD. The Samsun Portable SSD T7 version, on the other hand, lacks it and has a password protection system.
In addition, it has a ‘Motion LED’, which allows the user to check the activity of the device with a simple glance. Based on the mode in which the LED flashes, it is possible to understand, in fact, what operations are performed by the device (data transfer, fingerprint reading, etc …). Despite the noticeable speed increase, hardware integrations and robust metal (aluminum) casing, the new SSD only weighs 58 grams.
The T7 Touch is available in black or silver finishes and in 500GB, 1TB and 2TB formats, making it suitable for a wide range of uses. To ensure users have reliable connectivity wherever they are, the unit is equipped with a USB Type-C-to-C cable and a USB Type-C-to-A cable, and is compatible with Windows, Mac and Android.
Samsung Portable SSD T7 Touch, which also includes a three-year warranty, will be available in Italy from the end of January with retail prices starting at 168.79 euros. After the release of the T7 Touch, the portable SSD T7 (without fingerprint) will also be launched in the second half of the year. Below the product specifications:
