Vivo IQOO Neo

The new Vivo IQOO Neo will arrive on July 2nd and, according to the latest details shared by Vivo itself on the Chinese social network Weibo, it seems that it will be equipped with a 4.500 mAh battery.

This is revealed by a teaser image that also confirms the presence of a 22.5 W fast charging system. We recall that IQOO Neo will be a high-end terminal equipped with the top-of-the-range 2018 Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC. Although the performance of tip will certainly not be in line with those of Snapdragon 855, it is still one of the best chips still on the market, especially with regard to the graphics, not even equaled by the most recent Snapdragon 730 and 730G.

Curious, however, Vivo’s choice to adopt a chip from last year; surely there was the need to offer a differentiating factor compared to the already available Vivo IQOO – based on Snapdragon 855 and of which the Neo takes up most of the design -, however having it done with a top chip of the 2018 range thins out the potential differences that there could have been in the event that a Series 7 SoC had been chosen.

In short, with so little difference in terms of performance, it could be difficult to choose between the two products: a particularly low price positioning of Neo could make it unnecessary to turn to the variant with Snapdragon 855, on the other hand if the list were too similar it would be just the new model to be unattractive. Who knows what Vivo’s real goal will be; we’ll find out on July 2nd
