The upcoming Funtouch OS 12 release, based on Android 12, will be available for all vivo smartphones and will offer improved performance, greater customization thanks to stickers, widgets and highlight albums as well as higher levels of security and privacy.

Among the benefits of Funtouch OS 12 is the increased level of customization and functionality designed to simplify the daily smartphone experience. In particular, the new widgets allow you to easily organize the home screen and thus facilitate access to the main features. Added to this is the ability to further customize the home screen with slideshows created with the images of your albums, as well as set reminders, monitor habits or quickly sketch ideas and notes with stickers of your favorite color.

Funtouch OS 12 offers improved system security and privacy resulting in greater user control over their data. For example, within the Privacy settings, the user can decide which apps can access the phone’s microphone and camera: in this case Funtouch OS 12 shows a microphone or camera icon when one of the two, or both , are in use.

The update also shows users which applications have accessed the camera, microphone or location in the last 24 hours and makes it easier to manage the permissions of each app directly. Finally, the advanced location controls allow the user to decide whether to provide apps with their exact or approximate location.

vivo announced that the full range of products sold in Europe will receive the update to Android 12, then to Funtouch OS 12. The company was among the first manufacturers to introduce the latest version of Google’s operating system in their smartphones in Europe and the installation of the operating system began in late January and will continue until April. vivo X60 Pro and V21 5G were the first models that received Android 12 in late January 2022
vivo Y21 and Y72 5G will be updated about one month after X60 Pro and V21 5G
vivo X51 5G, Y33s, Y21s, Y70, Y20s and Y11s will be updated from the end of April 2022
